General Sir Adrian Bradshaw discusses the need for hybrid deterrence and high-readiness forces capable of operating among the people in today’s world.

About the event

As Russia, China, Iran and North Korea strengthen their mutual interdependency in the growing global competition between democracy and autocracy, General Bradshaw will discuss the importance of credible, collective, hybrid deterrence. He will also emphasise the need to maintain high-readiness forces capable of operating among the people to respond to ongoing threats from religious extremism and other forms of instability on the margins of the NATO area.

About the speaker

General Sir Adrian Bradshaw KCB OBE DL was NATO’s Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe from 2014 to 2017, having previously been Deputy Commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan from 2011 to 2012 and Commander UK Land Forces in 2013. He has served in armour, as a military pilot, and in a variety of other operational roles over a career spanning 44 years.
