Celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe and jive the night away at our 1940s dance.

About the event

On 8 May 1945, people across the UK took to the streets to celebrate the end of the Second World War in Europe. Eighty years on, join us in our very own VE Day celebrations and dance back in time at our special after-hours dance event.

Whether you’re an absolute beginner or already know your way around the floor, our friends from SwingdanceUK will show you how it’s done. From Lindy Hop to Jitterbug, they’ll soon have you stepping out with their lessons for both new and improving dancers.

With live music from South London Jazz Orchestra and cabaret from the Diamond Girls, you’ll be shaking and shimmying to the best sounds of the ‘40s.

Hair and make-up artists Pretty Me Vintage will also be on hand (6.00pm to 9.30pm) to keep you looking the part.

Our café will also be open, serving warm food and cold drinks.
