Join Us in Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of VE Day at The Soane Stable Yard.

About the event

Join us for a memorable day as we commemorate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day at The Soane Stable Yard. Enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, fascinating history, and live entertainment throughout the day.

Get creative with a VE Day Bunting Making workshop, where you can craft your own vibrant decorations to mark this special anniversary. You can also take part in a Make, Do, and Mend sock darning session (this is a ticketed event see the booking link below), learning this traditional skill that was essential during the war years.

Explore genuine Second World War artefacts and hear fascinating stories from expert Paul Hunt during his insightful talks. Watch history come to life as Second World War reenactors immerse you in the past with their captivating displays.

To round off the day, enjoy a performance by the Chelsea Pensioner Singing Group, singing nostalgic period songs that will transport you back in time.

Treat yourself to delicious cakes and tea from the renowned Heidi Bakery, offering a perfect break during your visit.

Entry is free and will run from 10:00-16:00 on Saturday, 10th May 2025 at Soane Stable Yard, Royal Hospital Chelsea, located next to the Chelsea Gate.

We look forward to welcoming you for a day of history, creativity, and celebration, while also supporting the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
