A powerful new history detailing the most significant military clashes between Islam and Christendom over the 1,300 years of the Muslim Caliphate.

About the event

Join Simon Mayall as he transports you from Caliph Umar’s capture of the holy city of Jerusalem in the 7th century to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire in the wake of the First World War, focusing on some of the most significant clashes of arms in human history.

Discover the story of this 1,300-year struggle for political, military, ideological, economic and religious supremacy between Christian popes, emperors and kings and Muslim caliphs and sultans.
