About the event

Take a family-friendly journey through the National Army Museum’s galleries and discover the stories behind paintings from across the ages.

This free tour invites families to look closely at works of military art, uncover hidden meanings and explore how paintings can reveal changing ideas about soldiers, conflict and courage.

Designed for children and adults to enjoy together, the 30-minute tour is a gentle, accessible introduction to the Museum’s art collections and its special exhibition themes.

Four tour slots per day / Times vary:

Start times: 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm
End times: 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm

Suitable for children aged 5+. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Are bikes or scooters allowed?

Bikes (including folding bikes) and scooters are not permitted. There are bike racks located along Royal Hospital Road. These can be used to secure any bikes and scooters.

Please do not secure any bikes or scooters to the railings outside the Royal Hospital Chelsea or Burton Court. Any items secure to these railings will be removed.

Can I bring children?

Please adhere to the age range specified for events on the listings page and if appropriate please book a ticket for your child. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult approved by the parent/guardian. The event organiser cannot be responsible for unsupervised children.
