In celebration of Women’s History Month and the week of International Women’s Day, we invite you to Chelsea Physic Garden for a special live performance ‘Queen of Between’

About the event

What happens…

When the goddess of childbirth crosses her legs?

When you’re bound above chaos with golden threads?

When the weight of your grief means you can’t walk on?

When you’re neither living or dead so you don’t fit in?

When you’re… stuck?

That’s when you need Hecate: Queen of Between, many-shaped and multi-tasking goddess of birth, death, witches, weasels, hellhounds, crossroads, thresholds and ghosts.

Barking at her heels, Lucy Lill and Sarah Liisa Wilkinson take up their torches, jangle their keys and bring you stories of letting go, squeezing through and moving on. Join the three of them, along with Zues, Hera and Hecuba, for a very epic evening.

And as befits a goddess of crossroads, when the stories are done, you’ll be invited to shape your own questions —making votives to carry your uncertainties, longings and stuck places, and placing them at the crossroads of Chelsea Physic Garden, where Hecate listens best.
