About the event

Every weekend leading up to Christmas, we invite our little visitors to gather ‘round as our beloved Chelsea Pensioners bring to life the enchanting tale from the book ‘Spinach at Christmas’.

Follow Spinach and his friends in this charming, fully illustrated story, exploring real locations in Chelsea and Battersea, including the Royal Hospital Chelsea! Written and illustrated by Paul Chapman, this delightful tale is sure to spark joy and imagination.

Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit! Enjoy the warmth of storytelling with our Chelsea Pensioners, share in the magic of Christmas, and explore the newly opened Soane Stable Yard.

Additional information

Sessions last approximately 30 minutes and take place at 10am, 11am and 2.30pm on Saturday 30 November/Sunday 1 December, Saturday 7/Sunday 8 December, Saturday 14/Sunday 15 December and Saturday 21/Sunday 22 December.

All children must be accompanied by an adult and due to space limitations, we ask that a maximum of one adult ticket is booked per child.

Are bikes or scooters allowed?

Bikes (including folding bikes) and scooters are not permitted. There are bike racks located along Royal Hospital Road. These can be used to secure any bikes and scooters.

Please do not secure any bikes or scooters to the railings outside the Royal Hospital Chelsea or Burton Court. Any items secure to these railings will be removed.
