Bestselling author Nicola Tallis tells the gripping story of Elizabeth I’s youth, as she steered her way through perilous waters towards the English throne.
About the event
Elizabeth I, the ‘Virgin Queen’, is one of England’s most famous monarchs. But for the younger daughter of Henry VIII, a role as sovereign was by no means assured. Her fate remained uncertain for the majority of her early years.
Nicola Tallis draws on primary sources from Elizabeth and her contemporaries to provide a nuanced, authentic and utterly gripping account of a resilient young princess whose early life would shape the queen she later became.
