Discover how the Tudors left a lasting legacy on Chelsea with award-winning tour guide Guy Fairbank.
About the event
The Tudors are one of the most iconic royal dynasties in history. They left a lasting impression across the British Isles, and Chelsea was no exception. The riverside area attracted two of King Henry VIII’s queens, his Lord Chancellor Sir Thomas More, and many other colourful characters.
Guy Fairbank showcases the Tudor legacy still evident in Chelsea today. He will share the stories of larger-than-life figures, including Tudor England’s most educated women, a teenage Elizabeth I, and Jane Dudley, the mother-in-law of the Lady Jane grey.
This tour will start and end at the National Army Museum. It will last approximately 90 minutes.
About the speaker
Guy Fairbank is an award-winning Blue Badge Guide and City of London Guide, with a wide interest in London’s history, from the City’s livery companies to the rock heritage of West London. In the past, Guy has led walks around SW3 both privately and for the Chelsea Society.
