A wellbeing workshop with Dr Menaka PP Bora, combining Indian dance, music, plant symbolism and ancient healing Mudras inspired by Sanskrit manuscripts from the Bodleian Libraries.
About the event
Join Dr Menaka PP Bora for a wellbeing workshop exploring Mudra and Music through Indian dance, movement and plant symbolism. Inspired by ancient healing Mudras, or classical dance hand gestures, the session draws on Sanskrit manuscripts and music from the Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford. Participants will be introduced to expressive gestures, rhythm and gentle dance-based movement, connecting body, mind and story through traditions of embodied knowledge. This accessible session offers a creative way to experience Indian dance fitness, wellbeing and the symbolic power of Asian plants, while discovering how ancient practices continue to inspire movement, healing and reflection today.
