A haunting evening of after-dark storytelling, history and performance exploring women herbalists, cunning folk and the Witch Craze at Chelsea Physic Garden.
About the event
Enter Chelsea Physic Garden after dark for a haunting evening of storytelling, history and performance. Founded in 1673, London’s oldest botanic garden offers an atmospheric setting to explore the lives of women herbalists and cunning folk persecuted during the Witch Craze. Led by Maria from Herstorical Tours, you will journey through the darkened Garden and encounter two London women whose stories were bound up in this turbulent period.
The evening continues in our Gallery with a warming mulled drink and an engaging talk on the origins, victims and legacy of the Witch Craze, before closing with a powerful poetic performance.
