About the event

Step back in time and explore daily life during the Second World War with military historian Paul Hunt at the Soane Stable Yard. Discover genuine WWII artefacts, including gas masks, 1940s kitchenalia, and items reflecting children’s experiences of war. Learn about the Home Guard and ARP through original uniforms and equipment.

See powerful relics from The Blitz, including remains of V1 and V2 rockets that fell on Chelsea. With over 20 years’ experience, Paul Hunt, Royal British Legion member, offers engaging talks and hands-on displays.

Are bikes or scooters allowed?

Bikes (including folding bikes) and scooters are not permitted. There are bike racks located along Royal Hospital Road. These can be used to secure any bikes and scooters.

Please do not secure any bikes or scooters to the railings outside the Royal Hospital Chelsea or Burton Court. Any items secure to these railings will be removed.
