Fashion and Fables brings to life the remarkable true story of Grand Duchess Elizabeth, one of the most fashionable and enigmatic princesses of nineteenth century Europe and granddaughter of Queen Victoria. Through dramatic storytelling, powerful songs and atmospheric soundscapes, this performance explores a woman whose bravery, charm and charity connected English, Slavic and Germanic worlds.

Performed by multi award winning storyteller Anna Conomos Wedlock, the event combines history, performance and fable to create an immersive and moving experience. Expect a rich and theatrical hour of storytelling, music and myth, bringing an extraordinary life into vivid focus.

About the speaker

Anna Conomos-Wedlock is a multi-award-winning performance storyteller, author and coach whose energetic, immersive style spans education, entertainment and professional training in the UK and internationally. She specialises in researching, writing and performing real-life narratives, delivering work through live shows, filmed storytelling, public-speaking coaching, lecturing and outreach projects. A university lecturer in the US, she has earned major awards, including Young Storyteller of the Year and has brought history, heritage and curriculum topics to life in schools, museums and galleries. Her bespoke performances have reached audiences ranging from business leaders and politicians to world religious figures and members of the British Royal Family, staged everywhere from crypts and castles to cruise boats and amphitheatres.
