About the event

Explore the rich history of this iconic site as you uncover the stories behind the historic cannons, learn about the Battle of Chillianwala memorial, and delve into the significance of Figure Court. Along the way, you’ll gain insight into the proud traditions and daily life of the Chelsea Pensioners.

This is a dog-friendly event, perfect for history lovers and their four-legged companions. Please ensure all dogs are kept on a lead, and owners clean up after their pets.

Location: South Grounds, Royal Hospital Chelsea. Please meet at the Soane Stable Yard via Chelsea Gate.

Date and time: Saturday 4th October 11:00 and 14:00 (each tour lasts approximately 30–45 minutes)

Are bikes or scooters allowed?

Bikes (including folding bikes) and scooters are not permitted. There are bike racks located along Royal Hospital Road. These can be used to secure any bikes and scooters.

Please do not secure any bikes or scooters to the railings outside the Royal Hospital Chelsea or Burton Court. Any items secure to these railings will be removed.

Can I bring children?

Please adhere to the age range specified for events on the listings page and if appropriate please book a ticket for your child. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult approved by the parent/guardian. The event organiser cannot be responsible for unsupervised children.
